I’ve been road tripping all over Punksylvania lately, but last weekend I went even further west to Ohio. Originally the plan was to meet up with a bunch of friends from my Punks Pitching Tents group at Pittsburgh’s Punk in Drublic, but we all know how that went down (#FuckFatMikeIHAWNM). I decided not to let the Universe dictate who I hung out with and went to visit with them instead.

Of course I had to make a quick pit stop at Murder Motel for a #TinyHandAdventures picture. This is the spot where Shelby and I stayed during Camp Anarchy and we were extremely lucky to have survived the weekend. Never go into the hotel owner’s room/home for a beer, Shelby. NEVER!!!

My first stop was outside of Cincinnati to see my far away bestie/punk rock soulmate, Shelby. We spent the night in sweatpants, talking, and giggling like we were 13 years old. The only things missing were friendship bracelets and prank phone calls or it would have been a genuine sleepover. I was awaken the next morning by a guitar serenade from her daughter, Brenna, and then we went to the local mall, like Punk Rock Princesses. We say that we went to Hot Topic, but really we went to Claire’s and got a ring guard and pizza earrings…just the essentials. As we headed to our next destination, Swine City Brewing, I got distracted by a giant dragon and had to stop for another #TinyHandAdventures picture.

We finally made it to the brewery and met up with the rest of our group, Marco, Casey, and Sammy. There were beers, stories, swearing, and laughter and it seemed more like a group that had known each other for years versus one meeting only recently. We hung out with each other for hours until we closed the place down. I’m not ashamed to say that there were tears in my eyes and my chilly heart was melted for a minute when I had to say goodbye to my friends.

Casey and Marco were kind enough to give me place to crash that night and I had a blast getting to know them better, cuddling with their pup, Guidog, and watching movies from the 1990’s: Point Break, Wayne’s World, and Short Circuit – say whaaaa? And of course… there was pizza. We all packed up on Monday to head to Columbus for Face to Face, Lagwagon, and more #TinyHandAdventures. Stay tuned for that!!!!!
