Released in 2018, Rocky Dennis Face’s self titled album is their first LP. It starts off with the fast, high energy song, “RDF”, which is a sort of an anthem for the band. Not much else to say here, except some gibber and “RDF, BITCH!!!”

The song ends and the next one immediately continues with the same in your face, Queers-esque tempo that carries throughout. “Pink Lighter” takes us on the journey of losing personal possessions through various means. If this happens upon my playlist, the tune is stuck in my head all day long.

“Buttermilk Falls” is an actual location in Pennsylvania. It’s a bit slower paced and more melodic than some on the album. Assuming that the lyrics are accurate, this is definitely a place that I want to visit even though they say it isn’t any good for me. Obviously that just makes me want to go even more….

My favorite song on the album is “Fell Through.” The catchy cadence paired with its relatable lyrics speak to everyone who listens. We all deal with periods when nothing seems to go right and this song is perfect for belting out those frustrations.

The LP ends with “Drunken A-Hole,” a cautionary tale of the dangers of over drinking and acting like an asshole. The guitar riff is probably my favorite on the record. It serves as the basis for the song and not merely an ornament. I was really happy that the album ended with the same high energy as the beginning.

Overall, Rocky Dennis Face’s self titled is fun, catchy, and will give you a reason to bounce along. Head over to Bandcamp and listen to the entire album for yourself. Then buy it!!!
